Erri Volume 1

Big news! Next week, on June 2nd, Erri Volume 1 is having it's launch Party in Montreal. What is Erri?

"Erri is a collective illustrations book. It's a new opened window on illustrators from Quebec and a spot light on their talent. Erri exist to show these hidden talents to the general public. It's also a way for us to meet other illustrators and get inspired. This is what it's all about."

 Vincent Desbiens

Basically, get ready to be WOWed by some of the work that will be in this book. Trust me, I saw a preview! The whole event will be held at Bistro L'Etranger where the book will be sold. So if you are in town you better be there! Oh, and I got some work in it too.

Don't Look at Me

“Today, Advertisement sells by creating an artificial representation of the culture it mimics.
Don’t Look at ME is a critique of today’s advertisements and their exploitation of sexuality as a mean to sell a product by narrating the influence it has on a young girl going through different possible stages in her life in relation to her sexuality. This series of pieces works to raise concerns about sexual desires, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and influence that we encounter in ads while juxtaposing these themes to what we take for granted in the world that is represented to us in sexually charged advertisement. It is not my intent to offer an answer or an opinion on the subject but to simply suggest a forum to promote conversation on the topic. To let people develop their own opinion from the information given to them is one of the main concerns of my work by using a socially and politically driven message.”

Ocad Grad Show

Ocad University Grad Show ends today and so does my life as a student. The whole event was pretty impressive. Every wall of the university was turned into a immense gallery. I was most impressed by the number of people showing up to the event. Even on the last day; a freezing cold sunday. Thank you very much to all the people who showed up, the whole thing was a lovely experience. What is going to happen now? Well, I am planning to look for a job, hopefully in a studio, animation perhaps. I am staying in Toronto for the summer, time during which I will decide where I am going to install myself; Montreal or Toronto. This summer, I am going to start working on two new personal projects. First, is work for the next JetFuel Cafe show themed Love of the Wheel. Second, a secret project on helmets! All of this in the next few months. If your in Toronto make sure to go to gallery openings & If you see me say Hi.

Retro Show

I got 3 pieces, from my thesis project, selected to be part of the Ocad Retrospective Show next week!

"The Retrospective is an annual exhibition sponsored by the Student Union, which has been successfully mounted at OCAD for the past 3 years. The show is ENTIRELY CURATED, PRODUCED, JURIED AND PUT UP BY STUDENTS featuring works from all years and departments' accomplishments. The Retrospective is an exciting opportunity to showcase art and design juxtaposed in the one space."

Target Practice

Here's one of these times where the scene just isn't talking to you and your just not in the mood for 3-4 hours of focussed observation. You start to go in some more "risqué" explorations and find yourself playing with paint more than your looking at the model that's in front of you.
